Information we collect

If you join the mailing list, we collect the email address you provide, the signup source, the date of signup, and a record of your consent. If you optionally choose reading interests after signup, we also store those choices with your subscription to help make future book news more relevant. Choosing interests is not required to subscribe or download the complimentary printables. We do not ask for payment information on this website.

How information is used

Mailing-list information is used to send occasional news about A.J. Rooke books, including future releases. It is not sold. You may unsubscribe from future messages at any time using the link provided in each email.

Service providers and purchases

Mailing-list records are stored using Google Firebase. Book purchase links open Amazon in a new tab; purchases take place on Amazon and are governed by Amazon’s own policies. Firebase Hosting uses the requesting IP address to infer a country so that Amazon purchase and review links open the applicable supported paperback store. The website does not save that inferred country or add it to a mailing-list record. This site may also receive basic technical logs needed for reliable and secure hosting.

Optional website analytics

If you choose Allow analytics, this website uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which pages, books, filters, and buttons readers find useful. Analytics may store first-party cookies and process information such as an approximate location, device and browser information, the page where an interaction occurred, and interactions with the website. Button events may include a book identifier, ASIN, button location, and whether an Amazon link was for a product or review. We may also count interior-preview openings and printable downloads. Email addresses, saved reading interests, and subscription or preference tokens are not sent to Analytics.

Analytics is off unless you allow it. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the website can remember it. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using Cookie settings. Analytics totals may exclude visitors who decline, block, or otherwise prevent analytics collection. Google processes analytics information under its own privacy policy, and event data is retained according to the retention settings for the A.J. Rooke Analytics property.

Spam and abuse prevention

The mailing-list form uses Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA Enterprise to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA may set the necessary _GRECAPTCHA cookie and process browser and interaction signals for security, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention.

Retention and choices

Mailing-list records are kept while you remain subscribed and may be retained in a limited suppression record after you unsubscribe so that we can honor your request. If you later join again from the website, your subscription is reactivated. You can request access, correction, or deletion by replying to any mailing-list message you receive.

Children

The books include titles for children, but the mailing list is intended for adults. A parent or guardian should submit and manage any email subscription.
